You may have read the post written a few months back about a newly found pool in the area being destroyed, the new video put up is a just a short but sweet montage from that pool. Watch and enjoy. Plus many new videos in the locals section.

The turn out was great with more than 50 kids coming out to the shelter.  The night went off with out a hitch and we are happy to announce that bike night will be EVERY tuesday night.  We are already planning our first contest.  If you have photos or footage please send it to scott@shelterskateboarding.com.  Also, PLEASE post your thoughts and comments how we can make it even better next time.  PEACE OUT

I’m trying to get this locals page updated, I just put 1 new vid up so be sure to check that and I will be adding a few more in the next few days. THE SHELTER WILL BE HOSTING ITS FIRST BIKE NIGHT FOR OUR BMX FRIENDS.  IT WILL BE ON DECEMBER 2ND FROM 4-8 AND THE COST WILL BE $14.  SOFT PEGS ONLY, HELMETS REQUIRED OF COURSE. 

IF YOU WERE AT THE FREE LESSON DAY LAST SUNDAY, THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE THAT YOU WILL BE IN THE NEXT SHELTER TV COMMERCIAL ON “MY 4 ALBANY”.  COMMERCIALS START AIRING THIS FRIDAY.  ANY ONE KNOW FOR SURE IF THEY ARE IN IT???

Sorry about all the confusion, but here’s the final details for the upcoming Fred Gall and friends demo at the Albany Skatepark.
Its going to be Saturday, October 11th at 6:00 pm.

The after (pre?)party planned at Madison Grille (331 Madison Ave, Albany), will still go down on Saturday Oct 4th. 21+ show with Doomfist, Dez, and DJ Tone from 8pm till late. It’s a Birthday bash so come and celebrate The Shelter’s 5th anniversary, and Damon and Armin’s 28th year of living and breathing.

Other upcoming Shelter events:

Monday October 13th - Skatepark open at 12noon for Columbus Day.

Friday October 17th - The Shelter’s 5 Year anniversary skate jam, music, giveaways, and a free Tee and ‘Zine while supplies last.

Friday October 24th - Halloween skate jam - free candy, wear a costume - skate half off!
